Welcome to Garden Joy

a community garden located in Ripon, CA

Founded in 2016, Garden Joy was built to cultivate wellness and community through a hands-on garden program. Located on a quiet acre behind Studio Joy, lie garden beds for vegetables, ornamental plants, fruit trees, picnic tables, a large lawn, and children’s play areas.
We educate local youth about seasonal eating through gardening and host hands on field trips, camps and classes that involve kids in all aspects of gardening, and serve about 1,000 local kids annually.
All of the produce grown at Garden Joy is donated to local organizations like food pantries and schools: we’ve donated over15,000 pounds to our community to date!
The Ripon Farmers Market is our largest fundraising opportunity of the year and provides a place for the community to come together and gives local businesses a place to offer their products.
All vendor proceeds go to the garden’s operational expenses.
We are here to provide free and low cost educational experiences and make an impact on food impact on food insecurity. As a registered non-profit 501(c)3, we exist because of the generosity of donors, volunteers, grants, and farmers market support.
Together we have developed a peaceful and nurturing green space to grow organic produce, provide edible education and grow in joy!

Garden Joy is unique to our area and is striving to make an impact on food insecurity by offering programs that provide thousands of pounds of fresh produce to the community and free education to local youth.

In addition to our free school field trips, we offer free monthly story time and garden exploration for youth and their caregivers, on the first Friday of most months (check the calendar page) at 9:00 am.

Ripon Farmers Market

Ripon Farmers Market is a fundraiser for Garden Joy. Visit every Thursday at 5pm - 8pm throughout May - September.

Family Recipe Kits

To continue to serve local youth GardenJoy distributes Farm to School Recipe Kits that include fresh produce, cooking tools, a recipe, and all the ingredients necessary to create a healthy meal at home.
