Garden Joy - Impacting our local community

Can I share something with you?

When I started Garden Joy back in 2016, I had no idea the impact we’d make on our community here in Ripon, CA.  I thought that I’d share my love of gardening and healthy eating with local children, we’d give back some produce to the community and encourage some children to try (and maybe even enjoy!) a new vegetable.  I never imagined that we’d work with hundreds of children and donate almost 3,000 pounds of healthy organic produce to people who need it most, especially during this challenging time.

After converting a lot that was overgrown with weeds and had no irrigation into a beautiful community garden that has produced 2,000 pounds of food, I can truly say that this labor of love has brought so much joy into countless lives.

I’m enthusiastically looking forward to the future of the garden and toward all of the many ideas and projects we have planned for 2021, like our outdoor kitchen and hopefully, the return of our educational programs.
